I created a new Profile for Internet Tethering and crashed my iPhone with that. After I deleted the profile and restored the network settings of the iPhone, and installed the former tethering profile again. Since that, my MacBook Pro does not only ignore the iphone when it tries to establish a network connection (before that, the network settings dialogue popped up), it is also not visible at iTunes.
The guys at AppleCare told me to restore my iPhone, which (gladly) did not work, because iTunes gave me an unknown error (-20) while restoring it. I said gladly because the phone can tether with our Windows XP PC, and on the imac of a co-worker, thus it has maybe sth. to do with the macbook pro.
After I deleted the mobiledevice settings and reinstalled iTunes (more than once), digital images pops up when plugging the iphone via USB to the MacBook Pro, but neither tethering nor iTunes works with it. I am at the end of my wits. Does anybody has an idea what I could do besides reinstall the whole OS?
